On March 6, 2020, Brose had a Foundation Stone Ceremony marking the beginning of the construction of the company’s manufacturing complex in Pančevo, Serbia.

“Brose Group supplies the automotive industry with around 200 million electric motors a year. We are responding to the growing demand for our products by expanding our global development and manufacturing network and boosting our competitiveness,” said Thomas Spangler, Chief Technology Officer at  Brose. In addition to the manufacturing facility where the automotive components will be manufactured, Brose is going to build a development centre in Pančevo, as well.

In the first phase of construction, a production facility and an administrative building spanning approximately 60,000 square metres will be built. Completion is planned for the next spring. The company’s Managing Board has already approved € 120 million-worth of investments in the new Brose factory complex and plans to create up to 1,100 new jobs in development, sales, procurement and manufacturing.

“Great and wonderful news for the whole of Serbia! Brose for us means an additional export of 450 million euros; it means 1,100 workers who will have the opportunity to make money for themselves and their families. This is one of the most important steps we have made. I am proud that they will be working in our beautiful country. It will be one of our brain-centres here. We will develop new technologies at this place. From here we will grow, learn and move the whole country. Through such investments, we see the future for our country. Congratulations to the whole of Serbia”, said the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
